Sherry A. Wendt is Vice-President, Legal and Chief Compliance Officer at Cenovus Energy.  She has over 20 years of energy sector experience and has held senior leadership roles spanning legal, corporate secretarial, investor relations, strategy, corporate planning, investment governance, value chain optimization and downstream analytics.  Since joining Cenovus in 2015, she has also served as Associate General Counsel & Assistant Corporate Secretary and held various other Vice-President roles including Investor Relations and Strategy & Corporate Planning. Prior to Cenovus, Sherry spent several years at Penn West Energy as Corporate Secretary & Corporate Counsel, and began her career in private practice at Bennett Jones LLP.  She holds an LLB from the University of Calgary and a B.Comm. (Honours) in Actuarial Mathematics from the University of Manitoba.  In 2018, she was named one of the Top 40 Lawyers Under 40 in Canada.
